Everblades reach South Division Finals

Everblades reach South Division Finals

The Florida Everblades completed a four-game sweep of the Atlanta Gladiators in the South Division Semifinals on Friday with a 3-2 overtime win at Infinite Energy Arena.  Florida will meet the winner of the Orlando/South Carolina series in the South Division Finals. The Solar Bears lead that series 3 games to 0 with Game 4 set for Saturday at Orlando.

Trailing 2-1 midway through the third period, Justin Kea scored his scored goal of the night for the Everblades to eventually force overtime. In the extra session, John McCarron notched a power-play goal at 1:48 to give Florida the win.

Michael Kirkpatrick led Florida in the series with four goals and seven points. Martin Ouellette won each  of his three starts in the series, allowing five goals.

Atlanta was led by Derek Nesbitt. who scored two goals, and Tanner Pond, who posted four points (1g-3a).
