Norfolk’s Dupont receives 2017-18 ECHL Sportsmanship Award

Norfolk’s Dupont receives 2017-18 ECHL Sportsmanship Award

Brodie Dupont of the Norfolk Admirals is the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award for 2017-18 as determined in a vote of ECHL coaches, broadcasters, media relations directors and media members.

The award is presented annually to the player who is judged to have exhibited the best sportsmanship combined with a high standard of playing ability.

Jesse Schultz of Cinicnnati finished second, followed by Atlanta’s Derek Nesbitt, Kelly Zajac of South Carolina and Toledo’s Simon Denis.

Dupont, who was loaned to Stockton of the American Hockey League on March 29, posted 68 points (21g-47a) in 68 games with the Admirals this season while being assessed just 38 penalty minutes. His 47 assists are tied for fourth in the league while his 68 points rank seventh. Dupont has tallied 109 points (37g-72a) in 108 career ECHL games with Norfolk.
