The Adirondack Thunder will meet the Florida Everblades in the Eastern Conference Finals after defeating the Manchester Monarchs 3-2 in triple overtime in Game 6 of the North Division Finals on Monday.
The teams traded goals through the first 40 minutes on Monday with Manchester's David Kolomatis scoring a pair of goals and Dylan Olsen and Brian Ward tallying for Adirondack. It remained tied 2-2 until Mathieu Brodeur scored 8:08 into the third overtime period. Thunder goaltender Drew Fielding finished the night with 53 saves.
The game was the 22nd in ECHL postseason history to reach a third overtime period and ended as the ninth longest game in league history.
James Henry led Adirondack in the series with eight points (0g-8a) while Fielding went 4-1 with a 1.55 goals-against average and a .955 save percentage. Manchester was led by Zac Lynch who had five points (1g-4a).
