ESTERO, Fla. – Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Brad Ralph announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Joe Cox for the 2018-19 season.
Cox, 24, returns to the Everblades where he pieced together an impressive rookie campaign posting 54 points (22g-32a) in 70 regular-season games. In addition, Cox also added 16 points (6g-10a) in 21 postseason appearances this past spring. Cox was the recipient of the team’s Rookie of the Year Award after finishing fifth in the league in rookie scoring.
Cox appeared in five games with the Everblades after concluding his senior season at Michigan State University in 2016-17. He recorded 14 points (7g-7a) in 35 games during that year with the Spartans. Cox captained the Spartans for two seasons, totaling 69 points (27g-42a) during his four-year collegiate career (2013-17). The Chelsea, Michigan native also totaled 60 points in two seasons with the United States Hockey League’s Muskegon Lumberjacks from 2011-13.
