West Valley City, Utah – Utah Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham today announced the team’s first four signings for the 2018-19 season as forwards Jake Marchment, Brendan Harms, Mitch Maxwell and Ryan Misiak.
Marchment, 23, had 19 points (10g-9a) in 22 games with Utah after being reassigned by the American Hockey League's San Antonio Rampage on Feb. 15. He was tied as Utah’s second leading scorer in that stretch. In total last season, he had 32 points (18g-14a) for 50 points in 71 games with the Grizzlies and Colorado Eagles. Nine of his 10 goals with Utah tied games or gave the Grizzlies the lead; including five of his 10 goals that gave Utah 1-0 first period leads. Four of his goals with the Grizzlies came on the power-play.
Harms, 24, had 38 points (13g-25a) in 62 games during his rookie season in 2017-18. He was Utah’s third leading scorer after Christmas with 11 goals and 19 assists for 30 points in 42 games.
Misiak, 26, and entering his third season in Utah, had 42 points (15g-27a) last year as he was the only Grizzlies player to appear in all 72 games. It marked the second-straight season that he has had 15 or more goals after he appeared in 71 of 72 games with Rapid City in 2016-17. He had 40 points (13g-27a) in 66 games with Utah and Rapid City in 2015-16.
Maxwell, 27, joined the Grizzlies Feb. 15 after finishing his five-year collegiate career as captain at the University of Lethbridge and two years in the Western Hockey League with Lethbridge between a two-year LDS Church Mission. He had 11 points (4g-7a)in 20 games with Utah to go along with a +4 rating.
