Cincinnati, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Buffalo Sabres and American Hockey League's Rochester Americans, have re-signed veteran forward Jesse Schultz to a contract for the 2018-19 season.
Schultz led the Cyclones, and ranked second in the ECHL in 2017-18, with 72 points (18g-57a) in 72 games played. His 57 assists were best in the league. He experienced a 13-game point streak from Nov. 25-Dec. 27, totaling 23 points (9g-14a) in that span. Schultz was named to the 2017-18 All-ECHL Second Team.
A native of Strasbourg, Saskatchewan, Schultz eclipsed 900 career games and 800 career points in 2017-18, and is just eight assists away from 500 for his career. In addition to his ECHL experience, Schultz has close to 400 games of AHL experience, and his time in North America has also been marked by over 160 Central Hockey League games, and a pair of NHL games with the Vancouver Canucks in 2006-07. He has also seen time overseas in Denmark, England, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia and Sweden.
