RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush announced that forward Shaquille Merasty has re-signed with the club for the 2018-19 season.
Merasty came to the Rush last season on a trade with the Wichita Thunder for future considerations. Merasty notched five points (3g-2a) in 20 games with the Thunder before earning seven points (2g-5a) in eight games with Rapid City.
Prior to playing professionally, the Thompson, Manitoba native played for the University of Manitoba in USports, and collected 74 points (33g-41a) in 82 games. Additionally, he played junior hockey in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League with the Portage Terriers, and won back-to-back league championships in 2011 and 2012.
