Growlers agree to terms with Babintsev

St. John’s, Newfoundland – The Newfoundland Growlers have signed forward Semyon Babintsev to a contract for the 2018-19 season.

The Growlers are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Toronto Maple Leafs and the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies.

The native of Moscow, Russia appeared in 22 games last season with the Utah Grizzlies, registering 12 points (4g-8a), along with six penalty minutes. He briefly appeared in 8 games with Sochi in the KHL during the 2016-17 season.

Babintsev played in 186 games over three seasons with the Mississauga Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League, registering 88 points (39g-49a) along with60 penalty minutes.
