ORLANDO, Fla. –The Orlando Solar Bears have agreed to terms with rookie forward Jared Fiegl for the 2018-19 season.
Fiegl will begin his first professional season with Orlando after completing his senior season of college hockey during the 2017-18 campaign with Cornell University. He enjoyed his best season offensively as a senior, posting eight points (4g-4a) and 12 penalty minutes in 28 games, while also serving as an alternate captain.
In 119 career games for the Big Red, the 22-year-old recorded totals of 17 points (8g-9a) and 101 penalty minutes. During his time at Cornell, Fiegl was a two-time recipient of the team’s Ironman Award (demonstrating will and determination), and was also presented with the Cornell Hockey Association Award (given to the player whose contributions come in the form of energy, heart and hustle) in his senior season.
The Parker, Colorado native has also represented the United States on the international stage, capturing the gold medal for Team USA at the 2014 IIHF World U18 Championships in Finland. Fiegl was a seventh-round selection (191st overall) of the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
