Rush agree to terms with Baer

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush announced that rookie forward Alec Baer has rejoined the Rush for his first full professional season in the 2018-19 campaign.

Baer came to the Rush last season following the conclusion of his major-junior career in the Western Hockey League. He played in the final eight games of the season with Rapid City, earning six points (3g-3a) in his first professional action.

“Alec played very well with us when we brought him on at the end of the season.  Registering 6 points in 8 games was just a glimpse of what he can bring to the professional game,” Rush Head Coach Daniel Tetrault said of Baer.  “Alec is very talented with a ton of skill, a great hockey sense, and works very hard.  It’s good that he’s getting a fresh start with us, considering now that he isn’t coming into a shorthanded situation.  I think he’s going to have a breakout season, and will produce well for us.”

A native of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, Baer played 342 career WHL games with Vancouver, Lethbridge and Kootenay, tallying 187 points (86g-101a). In his final WHL season in Kootenay last year, Baer had his best season, scoring 61 points (30g-31a) in 72 games.
