K-Wings add size to blueline and in goal

Kalamazoo, Mich. - The Kalamazoo Wings, ECHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, added three more faces to the roster with the signings of Travis Armstrong, Keegan Asmundson and Ross McMullan.

Armstrong joins Kalamazoo after spending time with the Adirondack Thunder and Quad City Mallards, along with Roanoke of the Southern Professional Hockey League, last season. A fourth-year pro, Armstrong has appeared in 89 career ECHL games, and made his professional debut with the K-Wings at the end of the 2014-15 season.

Asmundson comes to the Wings after leading the Huntsville Havoc to an SPHL President’s Trophy championship last season. The Mayville, North Dakota native appeared in 36 games for the Havoc posting a record of 16-11-5-2 along with a 3.11 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage. He has appeared in 33 ECHL games during his career, including one game with the K-Wings during the 2016-17 season.

Prior to signing with the K-Wings, McMullan spent the last two seasons with the Wheeling Nailers, tallying 20 points (7g-13a) in 86 games. Prior to turning pro the defenseman played four seasons at St. Lawrence University.
