Local product Saar joins K-Wings

Local product Saar joins K-Wings

Kalamazoo, Mich. - The Kalamazoo Wings, ECHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, have added another local talent, signing forward Zach Saar for the 2018-19 season.

Saar, originally from Richland, Michigan, joins the K-Wings for his second professional season. Last year he appeared in 29 games with the Utah Grizzlies, recording six points (5g-1a).

After leaving home at the age of 15 to play junior hockey with Chicago, Des Moines and Muskegon in the United States Hockey League, Saar spent four seasons at Penn State University. While with the Nittany Lions, he recorded 29 points (15g-14a) in 92 games.
