Jonas Johansson of the Cincinnati Cyclones has been named the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of Nov. 12-18.
Johansson went 2-0-0 with one shutout, a 0.50 goals-against average and a save percentage of .981 in two appearances last week.
The 23-year-old stopped all 23 shots he faced in a 9-0 win against Greenville on Tuesday and made 30 saves in a 4-1 victory over Fort Wayne on Friday.
Under a National Hockey League contract with the Buffalo Sabres, Johansson has appeared in eight games for the Cyclones this season, with a record of 5-2-1 with one shutout, a 2.76 goals-against average and a save percentage of .903.
Johansson has seen action in 35 career ECHL games with Cincinnati posting an overall record of 19-13-2 with one shutout, a 3.04 goals-against average and a save percentage of .908. He has also appeared in 14 career games in the American Hockey League with Rochester where he is 7-6-1.
Prior to coming to North America, Johansson played four seasons in his native Sweden, suiting up for Byrnas IF Gavle and Almtuna IS.
