ECHL announces fines, suspensions

ECHL announces fines, suspensions

The ECHL on Saturday announced the following fines and suspensions resulting from ECHL Game #218, Adirondack at Reading, on Nov. 23.

Adirondack’s Brian Ward has been suspended for five games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions at 8:44 of the second period.

Ward was assessed a game misconduct for leaving the player’s bench under Rule #70.1 and is fined and suspended under Rule #70.3 and Rule #70.10.

Ward will miss Adirondack’s games vs. Reading (Nov. 24), at Manchester (Nov. 30), vs. Reading (Dec. 1), vs. Maine (Dec. 5) and at Maine (Dec. 7).

Reading’s Dan Milan has been suspended indefinitely and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions at 8:44 of the second period.

Milan was assessed a game misconduct under Rule #75.5 and is fined and suspended under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline.

Milan will miss Reading’s game at Adirondack tonight (Nov. 24) and further discipline will be announced following a hearing with the ECHL Hockey Operations Department next week.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player’s Hardship Fund.
