Wheeling's Josephs named Inglasco/ECHL Player of the Week

Troy Josephs of the Wheeling Nailers is the Inglasco ECHL Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 12-18.

Josephs scored six goals and added one assist for seven points in four games last week.

The 24-year-old had a goal in a 2-1 loss to Toledo on Tuesday, notched his second professional hat trick in a 4-1 win at Jacksonville on Friday, and after being held off the score sheet in a 4-1 victory at South Carolina on Saturday, posted three points (2g-1a) in a 5-4 overtime win at Greenville on Sunday.

Under contract to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, Josephs ranks second in the ECHL with 11 goals in 10 games this season.

A native of Whitby, Ontario, Josephs has recorded 50 points (27g-23a) in 53 career ECHL games with Wheeling while adding three points (2g-1a) in 18 career AHL games with the Penguins.

Prior to turning pro, Josephs had 67 points (30g-37a) in 134 career games at Clarkson University.

On behalf of Troy Josephs, a case of pucks will be donated to a Wheeling youth hockey organization by Inglasco, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Inglasco has donated more than 39,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.

Runners Up: Alex Wideman, Cincinnati (3 gp, 2g, 5a, 7 pts.), Joe Cox, Florida (4 gp, 3g, 5a, 8 pts.) and Steven Swavely, Reading (3 gp, 5g, 1a, 6 pts.).

Also Nominated: A.J. White (Idaho), Kevin Dufour (Indy), Cam Maclise (Jacksonville), Domenic Alberga (Norfolk), Greg Wolfe (Toledo), Steven Iacobellis (Wichita) and Ivan Kosorenkov (Worcester).
