RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Arizona Coyotes, announced that forward Tyler Coulter has signed with the team for the 2019-20 season.
Coulter comes to the Rush after spending last season in Sweden Division 1. He played almost his entire season with Tyringe SoSS, registering 24 points (12g-12a) in 20 games before concluding his season with Kristianstads IK. With the latter club, he added another pair of goals in as many games en route to promoting his team to the top league in Sweden, the Allsvenskan.
Originally from Brandon, Manitoba, Coulter has previous ECHL experience with the Jacksonville Icemen in the 2017-18 season, where he notched four points (1g-3a) in 14 games before transitioning to play Canadian college hockey with the University of Calgary. With the Dinos, he registered three points (2g-1a) in 11 games, and appeared in five playoff games.
Prior to the start of his professional career, Coulter played all five seasons of his Western Hockey League career with the Brandon Wheat Kings, compiling 176 points (76g-100) and a +77 rating in 262 games. In the 2015-16 season, he served as an alternate captain, and helped lead the Wheat Kings to the WHL championship.
