Smith makes NHL debut

Smith makes NHL debut

Former Florida Everblades' forward Dalton Smith became the 669th former ECHL player to reach the NHL when he debuted with the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday against Tampa Bay.

Smith is the seventh former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2019-20 season. He posted 23 points (10g-13a) in 60 games with the Everblades during the 2016-17 season, while adding three goals in 11 games during the 2017 Kelly Cup Playoffs.

The 27-year-old has recorded 54 points (26g-28a) in 340 career American Hockey League games with Rochester, Providence, Lehigh Valley, Syracuse and Springfield.
