BOISE, Idaho – Forward Calder Brooks and defenseman Darren Brady have agreed to terms with the Idaho Steelheads for the 2020-21 season.
Brooks, 26, joins the Steelheads after a year of international play in Germany and France tallying 23 points (12g-11a) in 26 games played.
Prior to turning pro, the Emerald Park, Saskatchewan native spent four seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Calgary Hitmen, Prince Albert Raiders and Spokane Chiefs where he tallied 134 points (51g-83a) in 223 games. Following his time in the WHL, Brooks played collegiate hockey at Saint Mary’s University from 2015-19), posting 83 points (26g-57a) in 120 games. Following the completion of his senior season, he skated in three ECHL games with the Wichita Thunder.
Brady, 24, is entering his first professional season after playing four years of collegiate hockey at RIT where he totaled 36 points (10g-26a) in 135 career games and served as team captain in his senior season.
Prior to collegiate play, the Lake Orion, Michigan native played three seasons in the North American Hockey League with the Soo Eagles and New Jersey Junior Titans. In 180 games played, Brady put up 73 points (14g-59a).
