Strand makes NHL debut

Former Manchester Monarchs' defenseman Austin Strand became the 686th former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the Los Angeles Kings on Friday at Vegas.

Strand is the eighth former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2020-21 season. He posted three points (2g-1a) in nine games with Manchester during the 2018-19 season.

A native of Calgary, Alberta, Strand has posted 33 points (15g-18a) in 84 career American Hockey League games with Ontario.
