Cincinnati, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones have signed forward Yushiroh Hirano to a contract for the 2021-22 season. Hirano signed with the Cyclones prior to the 2020-21 campaign before the team opted out due to the pandemic.
The 2021-22 season marks Hirano's third season of pro hockey in North America. He has also played professionally in Japan and Sweden.Hirano skated for two seasons with the Wheeling Nailers from 2018-20, totaling 92 points (32g-60a) in 119 games. He also skated in one AHL game with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, earning an assist and becoming the first Asian born player to earn a point in the AHL.Hirano has earned gold, silver (2) and bronze medals while representing his country during international play from 2012-19. Prior to turning pro, Hirano spent the 2015-16 season with the United States Hockey League's Youngstown Phantoms where he posted 46 poitns (24g-22a) in 54 games. He was invited to the Chicago Blackhawks Development Camp in 2015.
