BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Steelheads have signed forward Colton Kehler to a contract for the 2021-22 season.Kehler began his professional career in Germany during the 2020-21 season with the Herner EV 2007 Miners in the Oberliga, tallying 38 points (17g-21) in 35 games. The Port Coquitlam, British Columbia native made his professional debut on Oct. 9, 2020 and finished seventh on the team in scoring. Kehler played two seasons of collegiate hockey with the University of British Columbia (USports) from 2018-20, posting 15 points (8g-7a) in 42 games.Prior to his professional career, Kehler played three seasons with the Edmonton Oil Kings in the Western Hockey League, totaling 108 points (67g-41a) in 200 games while serving as an alternate captain in his final two seasons in 2016-17 and 2017-18. His best year was his final campaign with 51 points (32g-19a) in in 71 games, leading the Oil Kings in goals and finishing third in points.
