Johnson returns to Railers

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester Railers Hockey Club, ECHL affiliate of the New York Islanders, announced today that the club has signed forward Max Johnson to a contract for the 2023-24 season.

Johnson, 25, re-signs in Worcester after being acquired from the Wheeling Nailers in February. With Wheeling, Johnson scored five points (2g-3a) in 23 games. He went on to play in 13 games with the Railers, recording three points (1g-2a).

Before his rookie season, the Lakeville, Minnesota native played five seasons of collegiate hockey. He spent the first four years of his college career from 2017-21 at Bowling Green State University where he scored 122 points (48g-74a) in 143 games. In his graduate season at the University of Wisconsin, he posted seven points (2g-5a) in 31 games.
