Romanov makes NHL debut

Romanov makes NHL debut

Former Wichita Thunder goaltender Georgi Romanov became the 752nd former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the San Jose Sharks on Monday at Edmonton.

Romanov is the 12th former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2023-24 season. He appeared in seven games with Wichita this season going 3-3-1 with a 4.00 goals-against average and a save percentage of .870.

A native of Yekaterinburg, Russia, Romanov also has seen action in 29 games in the AHL with San Jose this season where he is 9-9-8 with a 3.14 goals-against average and a save percentage of .904.
