Five former ECHL officials selected to work 2024 Stanley Cup Final

Five former ECHL officials selected to work 2024 Stanley Cup Final

Five former ECHL on-ice officials have been selected to work the 2024 Stanley Cup Final between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers. It is the third conseuctive year in which at least four of the officials selected to work had previously spent time in the ECHL.

The officials who previously worked in the ECHL are referees Jean Hebert, Dan O'Rourke and Chris Rooney along with linesmen Ryan Daisy and Matt MacPherson.

Hebert was an ECHL referee from 2008-10, and worked the 2010 Kelly Cup Finals. O'Rourke, whose son Austin is a current ECHL referee working the 2024 Kelly Cup Finals, played in the ECHL with Erie in 1993-94 and Louisiana from 1995-97, before becoming an official in the league. Rooney worked games in the ECHL from 1996-98, including the 1998 Kelly Cup Finals.

Daisy spent five seasons in the League from 2011-16, including the Kelly Cup Finals in 2013, 2014 and 2015 while MacPherson worked in the ECHL during the 2009-10 season, and was selected to work the 2010 Kelly Cup Finals.
