ECHL mourns loss of Matthew Gaudreau

The ECHL and its member teams mourn the loss and express their condolences to the family and friends of former Worcester Railers and Reading Royals forward Matthew Gaudreau, who passed away on Thursday at the age of 29.

Gaudreau and his brother, Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau, passed away as the result of an accident on Thursday evening in New Jersey.

Gaudreau skated in 127 career ECHL games with Worcester and Reading from 2017-22, accumulating 100 points (35g-65a). He added five points (1g-4a) in 22 career American Hockey League games with Bridgeport and Stockton.
