STATELINE, Nev. – The Tahoe Knight Monsters, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Vegas Golden Knights and the American Hockey League’s Henderson Silver Knights, announced that the team has agreed to terms with center Luke Adam for the 2024-25 season.
Adam, 34, comes to Tahoe after spending the last eight years abroad. He played seven seasons in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) from 2016-23, and split time last year with HC Plzeň in Czechia and HC Banska Bystrica in Slovakia. In the 2023-24 season, he played 28 games and totaled 15 points (5-10a).
Adam also brings NHL pedigree as he was selected in the second round (44th overall) by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He played parts of four seasons with the Sabres and racked up 26 points (15g-11a) in 86 games. He also played four games with the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2014.
At the AHL level, Adam has played with the Portland Pirates, Rochester Americans, Springfield Falcons and Hartford Wolf Pack, totaling 232 points (105g-127a) in 342 games. In 2010-11 with the Pirates, he was named AHL Rookie of the Year award after tallying 62 points (29g-33a) in 57 games.
