A pair of spots in the Division Finals round of the 2025 Kelly Cup Playoffs will be on the line on Tuesday when the South Carolina Stingrays host the Orlando Solar Bears and the Fort Wayne Komets entertain the Iowa Heartlanders in the 55th and 56th Game 7s in ECHL postseason history. The winner of the South Carolina/Orlando game will meet Florida in the South Division Finals while the winner of the Fort Wayne/Iowa matchup will advance to the Central Division Finals to take on Toledo.
South Carolina is playing in a Game 7 for the eighth time, and brings a 5-2 record into Tuesday's game. Three of the Stingrays' previous Game 7s have taken place at home and they are 2-1 in those games. Orlando fell to Florida 7-4 in the 2017 South Division Semifinals in its only previous Game 7.
Fort Wayne is 1-4 in five previous ECHL Game 7s, with its win coming against Cincinnati, 2-0, in the 2016 Western Conference Quarterfinals. This series marks Iowa's first-ever postseason series in team history.
The home team is 37-17 all-time in ECHL Game 7s and has won 24 of the last 34. Eleven Game 7s have gone beyond regulation, with four being decided in two overtimes and one in three overtimes. The home team has won eight of the 11 games decided in overtime.
