Jan Bednar stopped 24 shots and the Toledo Walleye scored twice on the power play to skate away with a 3-1 win over the Trois-Rivières Lions on Saturday in Game 1 of the 2025 Kelly Cup Finals in front of a standing-room only crowd of 8,600 fans at Huntington Center.

After a scoreless first period, Tyler Hylland scored the first goal of the series, giving Trois-Rivières a 1-0 lead 1:36 into the middle frame.
But, a pair of power-play goals from Toledo - Trenton Bliss at 5:39 and Sam Craggs at 11:14 - gave the Walleye a one-goal lead heading into the final 20 minutes.
Carson Bantle sealed the win for the Walleye with an empty-net tally at 18:05 of the third period.
