Lions take series lead with 3-2 win in Game 3

TROIS-RIVIÈRES, Quebec – Luke Cavallin stopped 31 shots and the Trois-Rivières Lions defeated the Toledo Walleye 3-2 in Game 3 of the 2025 Kelly Cup Finals on Wednesday in front of 3,497 fans at Colisée Vidéotron. With the win, the Lions take a 2 games to 1 lead in the series.

Trois-Rivières got off to a quick start, opening the scoring just 42 seconds into the contest when Chris Jandric redirected the puck past Jan Bednar for his third goal of the postseason.
 
The Lions doubled their lead at 12:20 when Xavier Cormier got behind the Toledo defense at the top of the circles, gathered in a pass from Alex Beaucage and flipped a shot past Bednar for his second goal of the playoffs.
 
Toledo got on the board 9:08 into the second period when Carson Bantle’s shot from the left-wing circle beat Luke Cavallin to the glove side for his fifth postseason goal.
 
Anthony Beauregard restored the Lions two-goal lead at 15:11 of the third period when he snuck a quick shot past Bednar from behind the net.

Toledo made it a one-goal game again at 17:34. With the Walleye on a power play and Bednar pulled for an extra attacker, Colin Swoyer scored his sixth goal of the playoffs from the high slot.

NOTES: In the previous 14 Riley/Kelly Cup Finals series that were tied 1-1, the winner of Game 3 has gone on to win the series 11 times … Trois-Rivières has scored first in all three games of the Finals and in 17 of its 19 postseason games …
