The Trois-Rivières Lions evened the 2025 Kelly Cup Finals at a game a piece on Monday with a 5-1 win over the Toledo Walleye in front of a standing-room only crowd of 8,600 fans at Huntington Center.
For the second consecutive game, Trois-Rivières’ Tyler Hylland opened the scoring, extending his goal streak to four games 7:31 into the opening period.
Toledo answered back just under four minutes later when Tyler Spezia took a centering pass from Trenton Bliss and found the back of the net for his sixth goal of the playoffs.
The Lions regained the lead prior to the end of the period when Nicolas Guay finished off a tic-tac-toe passing play by beating Carter Gylander for a power-play goal at the 19:05 mark.
Jakov Novak extended the Trois-Rivières lead to 3-1 with a power-play tally of his own at 13:14 of the second period, gathering in a pass from Xavier Cormier in the right-wing circle and one-timing a shot past Gylander for his fourth postseason goal.
Justin Ducharme scored his fifth of the postseason on a breakaway 6:12 into the final period to make it 4-1 while Kyle Havlena set the final with a goal at 14:36 of the third period.
