ECHL mourns loss of former player Seher

ECHL mourns loss of former player Seher

The ECHL and its member teams mourn the loss and express their condolences to the family and friends of Kurt Seher, who passed away on Monday at the age of 52.

Seher spent his entire ECHL career with Charlotte, recording 276 points (73g-203a) in 593 games from 1993-2003. He ranks 20th all-time in league history in games played, and at the time of his retirement, was second on the all-time list. He enjoyed his best season in 1995-96, tallying a career-high 47 points (10g-37a) in 68 games before adding 13 points (3g-10a) in 16 postseason games, helping the Checkers capture the 1996 Riley Cup title.

In addition to his ECHL time, Seher added 10 points (0g-10a) in 28 career American Hockey League games with Providence and Syracuse and six points (0g-6a) in 25 career International Hockey League games with Utah, Manitoba and Detroit.
