Stingrays bring back Loukus

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Washington Capitals and American Hockey League’s Hershey Bears, announced that the team has signed forward Dean Loukus to a contract for the 2025-26 season.

Loukus skated in 53 games for South Carolina in the 2024-25 season, recording 12 points (5g-7a) with a +7 rating in his first year of professional hockey. In the 2025 Kelly Cup Playoffs, the winger tallied four points (1g-3a) in the South Division Semifinals against the Orlando Solar Bears. 

A native of Calumet, Michigan, Loukus spent three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Saginaw Spirit and Mississauga Steelheads, totaling 155 points (56g-99a) in 194 career games.
