WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's San Jose Sharks and American Hockey League's San Jose Barracuda, announced today the signing of rookie forward Tian Rask for the 2025-26 season.

Rask, 25, turns pro after spending the last four years at the University of British Columbia. A native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, he recorded 63 points (32g-31a) in 95 career games for the Thunderbirds.

Prior to attending college, Rask played three years of junior hockey with the Alberta Junior Hockey League's Canmore Eagles and Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Melfort Mustangs. He brings a hard nose, gritty style of play to the Thunder, racking up 462 penalty minutes to go along with 126 points (52g-74a) in his junior career. He also served as an alternate captain for Canmore in 2018-19.
