Mavericks take 6-0 win in Game 1 of Kelly Cup Finals

The Kansas City Mavericks jumped out to a quick start in the 2026 Kelly Cup Finals with a 6-0 win over the Florida Everblades in Game 1 on Friday in front of a standing-room only crowd of 5,704 fans at Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence, Missouri.

Box Score

Kansas City started quickly, scoring a pair of first period goals on the way to outshooting Florida 10-2 in the opening 20 minutes. Jakov Novak opened the scoring at 9:34 when he redirected a shot past Cam Johnson from the top of the crease. Hudson Wilson extended the Mavericks’ lead at 17:23 when he snapped a wrist shot home from the top of the right-wing circle.

Jack Randl stretched the Mavericks’ lead to 3-0 at the 2:11 mark of the second period. Jackson Jutting skated the puck into the Everblades’ zone, fed Randl in the right-wing circle, who beat Johnson for his fourth postseason goal.

The Mavericks’ fourth goal of the night came 12:10 into the second period as Luke Loheit beat Johnson with a wrist shot from the right-wing circle for his fifth goal of the playoffs.

A power-play goal from Landon McCallum a 16:12 of the second period followed by a Jimmy Glynn marker 24 seconds later gave Kansas City a 6-0 lead after 40 minutes of play.

Kansas City’s Jack LaFontaine stopped all 15 shots he faced to improve to 7-1 in the postseason. The 15 shots on goal for Florida are tied for the fewest in a game in Riley/Kelly Cup Finals history.
