BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Bloomington Bison announced the team has signed forward Glebs Prohorenkovs to a contract for the 2026-27 season.
Prohorenkovs recently completed his collegiate career after amassing 87 points (31g-56a) in 147 games at Niagara University. The Riga, Latvia native has also represented his country in two IIHF World Championship tournaments and many times on the international stage for Junior Championships.
The 24-yeaer-old won a D1A Silver Medal at the 2019-20 U20 World Junior Championships and a D1A Gold Medal at the 2017-18 U18 World Junior Championships.
Prohorenkovs’ first season in North America was with the North American Hockey League’s Amarillo Wranglers in 2021-22 when he scored 53 points (18g-35a) in 60 games.
Prior to traveling overseas, he played in seven KHL games and scored a goal for Dinamo Riga and recorded eight points for the MHL’s HK Riga during the 2020-21 campaign. From 2018-20, Prohorenkovs tallied 25 points (6g-19a) in 61 games in Latvia’s top league.
