Fuel ink trio of players

FISHERS, INd. - The Indy Fuel have announced the signings of Kyle Aucoin, Michael Marchesan and Anthony Petruzzelli for the 2026-27 season.

Aucoin, 24, returns to Indy after four regular-season games and five playoff games last season. Before beginning his professional he played one season at Miami University, where he was named an NCHC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete.

Prior to that, the Hinsdale, Illinois native spent four years at Harvard University. He was also recognized as a United States Hockey League Scholar-Athlete of the Year in the 2019-20 season.

Aucoin was drafted in the sixth round (156th overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft by the Detroit Red Wings. His father, Adrian, played in the NHL for seventeen seasons.

Marchesan, 25, joined the Indy Fuel in April of 2024 after being claimed off waivers from the Atlanta Gladiators. He played two seasons in Atlanta, totaling 111 games, where he recorded 34 points and 114 penalty minutes. Last season, with the Fuel, he tallied 13 points (7g-6a) while collecting 88 penalty minutes.

During the 2022-23 season, the Burlington, Ontario native played 46 games for the Danbury Hat Tricks of the Federal Prospects Hockey League, where he recorded 58 points. He led the team in playoff points with 13 in 10 games that season as well. The Hat Tricks won the FPHL’s Commissioner’s Cup that year, and Marchesan was named the FPHL playoffs MVP. 

He played 32 games for the St. George Ravens of the Greater Metro Jr. A Hockey League during the 2021-22 season, where he led the team with 101 points with (54g-47a). Before that, Marchesan played three seasons in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League for the Pelham Panthers and Hamilton Kilty B’s.

Petruzzelli, 33, first came to the Fuel during the 2023-24 season in a trade that sent defenseman Kirill Chaika and forward Luc Brown to Jacksonville in exchange for Petruzzelli and Victor Hadfield. That season, the Federal Way, Washington native played 48 games for Indy tallying 21 points and 26 penalty minutes. He also recorded four games for the Guildford Flames of the Elite Ice Hockey League that season before playing 13 games in Jacksonville.

Prior to that, Petruzzelli played six seasons for the Fort Wayne Komets, serving as captain for his last two. During that time, he was called up to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League during the 2019-20 season, where he played four games. He returned to the Komets for the 2024-25 season and subsequently the 2025-26 season, where he once again was named alternate captain. In those two seasons, Petruzzelli recorded 40 points in 117 games.
