Kelly inks deal with Icemen

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Icemen, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Minnesota Wild and the American Hockey League’s Iowa Wild, announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Tanner Kelly for the 2026-27 season.

Kelly was acquired as part of the future considerations for the Icemen from a four-player trade with the Toledo Walleye on Feb. 23.

The 24-year-old joins the Icemen after a very successful rookie campaign last season, finishing sixth in the league in rookie scoring with 50 points (25g-25a) in 66 games. He added three goals in eight postseason outings with the Walleye.

Before starting his professional career, Kelly played four collegiate seasons at Michigan State University. Kelly totaled 58 points (24g-34a) for the Spartans and was a member of two conference championship teams. From 2019-21, the San Diego, California resident recorded 63 points (24g-39a) with the United States Hockey League’s Muskegon Lumberjacks.
