Lee returns to Bison

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Bloomington Bison announced that the team has signed forward Chongmin Lee to a contract for the 2026-27 season.

Lee, 27, played six games with the American Hockey League’s Cleveland Monsters during the 2025-26 season. The Seoul, South Korea native became the first Korean-born player to sign an AHL contract on Oct. 21, 2025.

He led all Bison in assists and finished second in scoring in the team’s inaugural 2024-25 season, and has amassed 87 points (31g-56a) in 102 career ECHL games- all with Bloomington.

Lee has represented South Korea on the international stage numerous times, and was recognized with the IIHF World Championships Top Player on Team Award during the 2023-24 season. He helped Korea win a Silver Medal in 2024-25.

Prior to turning pro, Lee played parts of four seasons in the British Columbia Hockey League with the Prince George Spruce Kings and totaled 62 points (22g-40a) in 134 regular season games. He was on the BCHL championship-winning team in the 2018-19 campaign.
