ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Tampa Bay Lightning, announced the club has re-signed rookie forward Massimo Lombardi to a contract for the 2026-27 season.
Lombardi rejoins the Solar Bears for his first full professional season after Orlando signed him to an amateur tryout in March. In 12 games with the Solar Bears, the Beaconsfield, Quebec, Canada native scored four points (2g-2a) and recorded six penalty minutes.
The 24-year-old played four seasons of college hockey at University of Vermont. In 112 career games, Lombardi scored 44 points (21g-23a) and totaled 39 penalty minutes.
Before joining Vermont, Lombardi skated two seasons with the Cowichan Valley Capitals of the British Columbia Hockey League, where he recorded 41 points (17g-24a) in 48 games during 2021-22 and 25 points (9g-16a) in 27 games during the 2022-23 season.
