BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Steelheads, ECHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced that the club has signed defenseman Nick Young to a contract for the 2026-27 season.
Young, 24, rejoins the Steelheads after skating with Idaho for 11 games last season for his first ECHL experience. He three points (2g-1a) in his stint with Idaho last season to go along with 12 penalty minutes.
Prior to pro hockey, the Raleigh, North Carolina native played four seasons at Union College in New York, skating in 144 games and grabbing 30 points (7g-23a).
Young served as Union’s captain during the 2025-26 campaign in what was his senior season with the team.
