Bison sign three players

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Bloomington Bison announced that the team has signed defensemen Dylan Finlay and Tyler Rubin, and forward Andrew Petruk, to contracts for the 2026-27 season.

Finlay, 24, posted nine assists in 34 games at Northeastern University last season after beginning his collegiate career at the University of Alaska-Anchorage. The L'Île-Bizard, Quebec native served as captain for the British Columbia Hockey League’s Powell River Kings during the 2021-22 season and registered 22 points (6g-16a) in 49 games. Finlay also played 40 games with the River Kings during the 2019-20 season and tallied 18 assists. In between his two seasons in the BCHL, Finlay joined the North American Hockey League’s Maryland Black Bears and skated in 33 regular-season games. After recording 11 points (2g-9a) in the regular season, Finlay added four points (2g-2a) in eight playoff games.

Rubin, 23, recently finished his collegiate career after four seasons at Princeton University, where he amassed 39 points (10g-29a) and a +9 rating in 103 career games. He recorded career-bests in assists (13), points (16) and plus-minus (+15) last season. Prior to attending college, the Wayland, Massachusetts product earned a spot on the 2021-22 BCHL All-Rookie Team after notching 34 points (8g-26a) in 50 games with the West Kelowna Warriors. He concluded the season with two assists in 14 playoff games.

Petruk, 21, skated in 170 career games in the Western Hockey League with the Everett Silvertips, Kelowna Rockets and Lethbridge Hurricanes since the the 2022-23 season. The Surrey, British Columbia native amassed 29 points (12g-17a) and 295 penalty minutes in the WHL and also recorded five points (4g-1a) and 72 penalty minutes in 23 BCHL games.
