Finnegan returns to Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's San Jose Sharks and American Hockey League's San Jose Barracuda, announced that the team has signed forward Ryan Finnegan for the 2026-27 season.

Finnegan, 29, begins his fourth full season as a pro. The Tecumseh, Kansas native tallied 25 points (9g-16a) in 60 games last season, which were career highs. In 161 career ECHL games, Finnegan has recorded 64 points (24g-40a).

Prior to turning pro, Finnegan completed a five-year career at Lindenwood University. He tallied 20 or more points per season in four of his five years at the collegiate level. In 2022-23, Finnegan recorded 20 points (6g-14a) in 29 games, which was the first year Lindenwood played at the NCAA DI level. Overall, he finished with 130 points (41g-89a) in 97 games.
