Fuel re-sign Petgrave, add Cole

FISHERS, Ind. - The Indy Fuel announced that they have re-signed defenseman Matt Petgrave and signed forward Conor Cole to contracts for the 2026-27 season.

Petgrave, 34, was one of two players to play in all 72 regular-season games as well as five playoff games for the Fuel last season. He tallied 48 points in the regular season and recorded a goal and an assist in the playoff series against Fort Wayne. His 48 points set a club record for most points by a defenseman in a single season, while his 12 goals ranks second in team history among defensemen in a single-season.

Prior to joining the Fuel, he played two seasons for the Sheffield Steelers of the Elite Ice Hockey League, putting up 51 points in 61 games. The Toronto native spent five seasons playing in both the ECHL and American Hockey League before his time in Europe.

Cole, 24, joins the Fuel from the University of Alaska-Anchorage, where he was the captain last season, playing in 20 games. In total, he played four seasons for the Seawolves after two years with the Maryland Black Bears of the North American Hockey League.
