Project Filter named presenting sponsor of 2027 Warrior/ECHL All-Star Classic

The ECHL, in conjunction with the Idaho Steelheads, announced on Wednesday that Project Filter will serve as the presenting sponsor for the 2027 Warrior/ECHL All-Star Classic.

The event will begin with a Fan Fest and the 2027 Warrior ECHL All-Star Skills Competition presented by Project Filter on Tuesday, January 26, which will be comprised of six events:

Fastest Skater
Hardest Shot
Accuracy Challenge
Stickhandling Relay
Premier Passer
Rapid Shootout

The 2027 Warrior ECHL All-Star Game presented by Project Filter will then take place on Wednesday, January 27, as a full 60-minute game at Idaho Central Arena in downtown Boise.

The week will also include the official induction ceremony of the 19th Class of the ECHL Hall of Fame. Ticket information will be announced at a later date.

The on-ice action will take an international angle as the United States-born ECHL All-Stars will take on Canadian-born ECHL All-Stars over the two-day format.

The annual Midseason showcase is attended by representatives from the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League and since its inception, has produced 75 players who have gone on to play in the NHL, including 59 since 2002 when the format was changed to feature younger prospects.

The 2027 ECHL All-Star Classic marks the second time that the Steelheads have hosted after previously hosting the 2007 event. Idaho joins Norfolk (1994 and 2022) and Reading (2005 and 2009) as the only two-time hosts in ECHL All-Star Classic history.

Formed in 1988-89 with five teams in four states, the ECHL has grown into a coast-to-coast league with 30 teams in 23 states and one Canadian province for its 39th season in 2026-27. There have been 782 players who have gone on to play in the National Hockey League after playing in the ECHL, including 14 who made their NHL debuts in the 2025-26 season. The ECHL has affiliations with 29 of the 32 NHL teams in 2026-27, marking the 29th consecutive season that the league has affiliations with at least 20 teams in the NHL.
