Tesink agrees to terms with Lions

Trois-Rivière, Quebec - The Trois-Rivières Lions, ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, announced the signing of defenseman Marcus Tesink ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Tesink joins Trois-Rivières after spending the past three seasons in the Elite Ice Hockey League with the Guildford Flames. In 145 games with the club, Tesink recorded 30 points (5g-25a) while posting a +11 rating. He enjoyed his best offensive season last year, recording 17 points in 54 games. 

Originally from Saint John, New Brunswick, Tesink spent three seasons with Concordia University. In 64 career games, he recorded 16 points (4g-12a).

Before making the jump to university hockey, Tesink spent four seasons in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League with the Moncton Wildcats, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and Saint John Sea Dogs. In 123 games, he totaled 17 points and finished his junior career with a +11 rating.

Tesink also has a family connection to the ECHL. His brother, Ryan Tesink, played more than 300 games in the league over the course of a six-season professional career.
