This season, the ECHL will make global sports history with the inaugural “Impossible Pair Rival Jersey Mash-Up,” a concept that is as eye-popping as it is urgent in today’s increasingly divided world. Four of the league’s regional rivals are tearing down the walls between each other, swapping their iconic colors, and visual identities to create rare, one-of-a-kind, "mash-up" game jerseys.
The bold promotion features the following ECHL regional rivalries:
- Florida Everblades vs. Orlando Solar Bears
- Indy Fuel vs. Bloomington Bison
The ultimate goal is two-fold: demonstrate that competitors can clash on the ice, while collaborating to fight division off it and raise funds for local charities in the process that the rivals mutually worked together to support.
The custom-created Impossible Pair jerseys will hit the ice in four featured league games during two exciting home-and-home series. Immediately following the final buzzer, all game-worn jerseys will be authenticated, autographed and auctioned off with proceeds directly benefiting local anti-hate/do-good charities in each participating city.
All Impossible Pair jerseys will be exclusively designed and produced by K1 Sportswear, the
largest hockey uniform manufacturer in the United States, with partners from the ponds to the pros, including youth hockey, USA Hockey, and junior, college and professional hockey.
"Not only is the Impossible Pair a unique concept that will be visually stunning on the ice, but it immediately reminds us of our ability to find ways to work together, even in the face of competition and rivalry,” said ECHL Commissioner Ryan Crelin.
The historic "Impossible Pair" ECHL schedule is:
- Saturday, Nov. 28, 2026: Indy Fuel at Bloomington Bison
- Saturday, Dec. 26, 2026: Bloomington Bison at Indy Fuel
- Saturday, Dec. 26, 2026: Orlando Solar Bears at Florida Everblades
- Monday, Jan. 11, 2027: Florida Everblades at Orlando Solar Bears
The Impossible Pair jersey mash-up is the brainchild of PACT!, a non-partisan organization dedicated to shattering intolerance through gutsy stunts of radical goodness.
“We are thrilled the ECHL and these teams share our audacity to stand up and show that we can be different, but still get along,” says Stephen Bronfman, founder of PACT!. “The sheer enthusiasm from the league shows this doesn’t have to be a one-off stunt - it’s a powerful and highly visual message of mutual respect that we hope to scale into an annual tradition of fundraising and togetherness.”
