McPherson named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

Allan McPherson of the Elmira Jackals is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 1-7.McPherson scored four goals, added an assist and was a +5 in two games last week.The 24-year-old scored a goal in a 4-2 loss at Manchester on Saturday and talled four points (3g-1a) in a 5-4 win against the Monarchs on Sunday.A native of Kinburn, Ontario, McPherson has 27 points (14g-13a) in 23 games with the Jackals this season while adding one goal in 15 games with Rochester of the American Hockey League.Under an AHL contract with the Americans, McPherson has recorded 50 points (22g-28a) in 47 career ECHL games with Elmira and 10 points (4g-6a) in 64 career AHL games with Rochester and Abbotsford.Prior to turning pro, McPherson played four seasons at Clarkson University where he had 103 points (41g-62a) in 150 career games.On behalf of Allan McPherson, a case of pucks will be donated to an Elmira youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL.
