South Carolina Stingrays’ forward Brett Cameron is the CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month for February.The 25-year-old tallied eight goals and added eight assists for 16 points during February helping the Stingrays to a 10-2-1 record during the month.Cameron scored at least one point in 10 of his 13 games in the month including three point games on Feb. 5 against Brampton and on Feb, 19 at Greenville. He also had a two-point effort on Feb. 6 against Florida.A native of Spruce Grove, Alberta, Cameron is tied for second among ECHL rookies with 19 goals while ranking seventh among first-year players with 44 points in 51 games this season.Cameron made his pro debut with the Stingrays late last season, tallying four points (3g-1a) in three games while adding one assist in five games with Adirondack of the American Hockey League.Prior to turning pro, Cameron played collegiate hockey at the University of Alaska-Anchorage where he recorded 65 points (26g-39a) in 143 career games.Runners Up: Michael Kirkpatrick, Adirondack (13 gp, 7g, 6a, 13 pts.), Cason Hohmann, Elmira (13 gp, 1g, 12a, 13 pts.) and Matt Leitner, Manchester (8 gp, 3g, 9a, 12 pts.).Also Nominated: Johnny Lazo (Colorado), Mason Geertsen (Fort Wayne), Jake Fallon (Idaho), Scott Allen (Norfolk), T.J.
