MacArthur named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

Peter MacArthur of the Adirondack Thunder is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for March 14-20.MacArthur scored one goal, added seven assists and was a +4 in three games at Orlando last week.The 30-year-old tallied four assists in a 6-2 win on Thursday, added an assist in a 6-3 loss on Saturday and picked up three points (1g-2a) in a 5-3 loss on Sunday.A native of Clifton Park, N.Y., MacArthur has 31 points (7g-24a) in 38 games with the Thunder this season. He began the season with Graz EC in Austria where he had seven points (2g-5a) in 26 games.MacArthur has recorded 83 points (25g-58a) in 79 career ECHL games with Adirondack, Las Vegas and Fresno and he has added 86 points (29g-57a) in 190 career American Hockey League games with Bridgeport, Rockford, San Antonio, Peoria and Lake Erie.Prior to turning pro, he played four seasons at Boston University, tallying 147 points (64g-83a) in 159 career games.On behalf of Peter MacArthur a case of pucks will be donated to an Adirondack youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 33,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.Runners Up: Chris Langkow, Elmira (3 gp, 3g, 2a, 5 pts.) and Miles Koules, Wichita (4 gp, 3g, 3a, 6 pts.).Also Nominated: Kyle Ostrow (Colorado), Sebastian Strandberg (Evansville), Shawn Szydlowski (Fort Wayne), Carson McMillan (Idaho), Chris Bradley (Orlando), Michael Leone (Toledo), Alex Krushelnyski (Utah) and Jordan Kwas (Wheeling).
