All-ECHL First Team announced

The ECHL on Thursday announced its All-ECHL First Team for 2015-16 as determined in a vote of ECHL coaches, broadcasters, media relations directors and media, who were asked to select a goaltender, two defensemen and three forwards. 2015-16 All-ECHL First TeamG – Josh Robinson, Missouri Mavericks (30 gp, 27-1-1, 1.84 GAA, .930 save pct.) D – Mathew Maione, Wheeling Nailers (68 gp, 9g, 42a, 51 pts., -7) D – Adrian Veideman, Colorado Eagles (69 gp, 17g, 27a, 44 pts., +23) F – Shane Berschbach, Toledo Walleye (60 gp, 24g, 43a, 67 pts., +14) F – Chad Costello, Allen Americans (70 gp, 24g, 77a, 101 pts., -2) F – Trent Daavettila, Colorado Eagles (69 gp, 25g, 54a, 79 pts., +31) The ECHL will announce the Community Service Award and Sportsmanship Award winners on Friday. Josh Robinson of the Missouri Mavericks set an ECHL record with a personal 21-game winning streak from Nov. 4-Feb. 14. He leads the league with a 1.84 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage while he is tied for third with 27 wins. Mathew Maione of the Wheeling Nailers leads all defensemen with 42 assists, 51 points, 20 power-play assists, 21 power-play points and 220 shots on goal. He started the season with Brampton before being traded to Wheeling where he has posted 41 points (5g-36a) in 51 games. Adrian Veideman is tied for first among ECHL defensemen with 17 goals and is second with 44 points. He has six game-winning goals, which is second among league blueliners, and his three overtime goals is tied for the overall league lead. Shane Berschbach of the Toledo Walleye is fourth in the league in both assists (43) and points (67) and his six game-winning goals are tied for sixth. Chad Costello of the Allen Americans is appearing on the All-ECHL First Team for the second consecutive season and for the third time in his career. He is currently riding a 17-game assist streak, which is tied for the second-longest streak in ECHL history, and he leads the league with 77 assists, 101 points, 33 power-play assists and 40 power-play points. Trent Daavettila of the Colorado Eagles is on the All-ECHL First Team for the first time after twice previously earning All-ECHL Second Team honors (2010-11 and 2013-14). He ranks second in the ECHL with 54 assists and 79 points and is fourth in plus-minus with a +31 rating.
